Fast Food Taking Over
It seems like in today's day and age that the main food source for a quick bite is fast food restaurants. It's like fast food is taking over as that resource that almost everyone has experience with. I know that the fast food industry sales are going up and these places are just getting more popular and making more money. I am not saying that you can never have fast food, you can but you just have to have separation from getting it all the time. Having it about two to three times a month is not bad but having those same amounts during a week span. Yes that is a bad thing. What is that these fast food places have? Is it how it tastes or is it the price? What I think it is both. I think that the quality of the food and how it tastes plays a really big factor because for most people they want there food freshly cooked and nice and warm. I also believe that the prices that these fast food restaurants charge helps their cause. The dollar menu and the big combo's you can get for a cheap price is not helping around the world especially in America. I believe as nation we need to stop this problem of more people coming obese because of fast food taking over some people's lives. I hope to see it stop within the next ten years and just have to wait and see what happens.
The Final Product
As I double check and print my research paper, I literally feel like I have gone through a journey. To be honest, I have actually learned so much about my topic. I did not know what to expect when we started the "food politics" unit. I really was not sure if I would like writing about this topic, but in the end, I really benefited from it. During my junior year, I kept a food and fitness log to keep track of my diet as well as the workouts I did. I was a huge health activist for myself, but as time went on I would splurge on more fast food and I slowly stopped working out. Why? I am not sure myself, but after doing this research paper, it made me regret stopping.
Truth is, I have a family member who is obese and it is terrifying. When he was in elementary school he would eat excessive amounts of food during each meal, but every day he would throw it up. He is fifteen year old, being 5'4" and over 300 pounds. Fortunately, there have not been any uncovered serious health issues, but that does not mean it will never happen. After everything I have learned through writing this research paper I will definitely talk to my family member about his situation. Obesity is literally life or death situation, but it is also a situation that could be avoided.

What about why we SHOULDN'T eat insects?
Do you guys remember watching this and cringing about it in class?
The thought of eating insects—simply unbearable to the Western mindset. How ridiculous would it be to serve these creepy crawly creatures in our renowned food establishments?! I know right.
Well, I personally could not imagine myself sticking a fork into a plate of insects and putting that into my mouth, and I was annoyed at the fact that Marcel Dicke's argument was so compelling. Yes, annoyed. Annoyed because he was right. It would be highly efficient and beneficial to the environment if humans were to just get their protein from insect meat; however, I was intrigued at the possibility of a strong counter argument to this belief. What could be the negative consequences of eating insects?
I am definitely no scientist. I am speaking off of a wannabe-creative high school senior mind. But I looked into the other side of the argument and found a couple of ideas that needed answers as well:

I am definitely no scientist. I am speaking off of a wannabe-creative high school senior mind. But I looked into the other side of the argument and found a couple of ideas that needed answers as well:
- Although six million species of insects currently exist in the world, there was also once an abundance of chicken, pork and beef in our world. Insects are everywhere, but if we consume them, won't our supply eventually decrease as well? It is not a permanent, but only a temporary solution.
- Insects play a vital role in biogeochemical cycling. In other words, they play an essential role as pollinators of flowering plants and many of our agricultural crops such as almonds, apples, cherries, cucumbers, squash and more. By consuming insects as protein, possibly at an exponential rate since we are suggesting this an issue for the entire world, we could be sacrificing our other sources of nourishment in our to satisfy our protein.
- Our inexperience with cooking insects could lead us to improper preparation, as well as wrong judgment in what insects are edible. There could be people that are put to risk due to our lack of knowledge about them.
- There are other protein sources! Not just insects! A cup of soybeans provides 28 grams of protein, accounting for more than half of the recommended daily value. Your peanut butter and jelly sandwich has protein: two tablespoons of peanut butter has 9 grams and your bread gives 7-10 grams.
Like I said. I'm no genius. None of this could be valid, really. But wouldn't it be possible that we could continue to live without having to eat insects in our future? Do any of you have any thoughts on what we could do to prevent ourselves from having to eat insects? Or would you be fine with it?
Not My favorite Topic
To me, this research paper was the hardest paper to write so
far. It wasn’t because we had to write five pages or because we had to do a lot
of research, but simply because I didn’t like this topic. It was difficult for
me to find what I was going to write about, and I just couldn’t focus on it at
all. Food really isn’t something I care for very much, and it’s clear in my
essay. I know my essay isn’t exactly the best, but after rereading it I just
can’t figure out how I can make it sound more interesting. If I’m not
interested in the topic, I feel that my essay will reflect it. Did anyone else
have this sort of problem, or am I the only one?
Why Worry?
Why are we so worried about what we eat? All these artificially made foods and drinks have been a round for a long time. Yes, they are making us fat and giving us a slew of new health problems, but why do we worry so much? In my opinion, I don’t see why anyone should care
what other people eat; it’s their body and if they want to destroy themselves
by eating all the junk food in the world then go ahead and let them do it. It’s
not harming anyone other than the person eating and I’m sure most people know
what they’re eating; not everyone is as ignorant as we think. Most people know that the food they eat isn't always healthy and it's their choice if they want to keep eating. I think everyone
should just enjoy any food and not be concerned too much about where it came
from. What do you guys think? Should we be worried all the time or should we just
enjoy what we have?
Research Paper
Just putting all my ideas together and finishing up this research paper. I feel like I am about three fourths of the way done with it just have to add those finishing touches. This paper has been very interesting to write. I say it is interesting because writing one on food was a little more difficult than I thought. Even though is was kind of a little challenging it was still kind of fun to write. I feel like I did my best but there is still room for improvement. Had a learning experience because this was like the first real research paper I have done but enjoyed doing one. Just have to say I am glad I am almost done.
Progress
My research paper was on the
perception of G.M.O.’s in the public eye and how this is affecting the progress
we are making with the new amazing tool that is genetic modification. “Tool of
the God’s” the title of my paper very much well describes my opinion on this
matter. Yes there are risks; risks upon risks. Yet, we should not allow these
risks to completely deter us from progress. The reason mankind has been able to
move forward is because of our relentlessness towards survival and growth. Yes
mistakes have been made that could have been prevented, yet those mistakes
should not only be seen with fear. Mistakes are always made no matter how
careful one is. As we have always been told we learn from them, yet this does
not mean we completely halt progress. Earth has a growing population. With
another estimated 3 billion to our already 7 billion people we cannot be
deterred by fear. Progress must continue to be made, risks must be regarded and
appropriate measures taken. We should proceed with caution. Take the appropriate
risks, but to simply throw out one of our most valuable accomplishments because
of fear should not even be an option. The other option that is being thrown
around is that of moving back towards our old ways of farming. I cannot
understand how this would even be possible. Our world is not centered on food;
simply eating is not everything we do. We not only need to continue to progress
in the area of agriculture but also in every other field. It would seem like a
step backwards if we were to move back to our old ways of farming. We should
simply make our current process more sanitary and efficient. And genetic engineering is a tool that can
make the significance of food less than it ever has before, allowing us to
focus our time on things we care about. It is fine if you care about food and
farming and you pick that up. But to force everyone to use their time when
there is a better alternative that would allow them to pursue what they want. And
it would also stop the progress that we need to continue to grow. It would be a
sad day when we allow fear to take us so far. Moving forward with caution for
the many risks involved is fine, but completely stopping because of fear seems
like going too far.
Efficiency and Sanitation
For many this topic of good food bad food is also tied into
the treatment of the animal when it is slaughtered. The “inhumane” process it
goes through. Not being allowed to be free before they are killed or any of the
other methods that they go through while being processed. Before I say anything
about my opinion on the matter, I must make one point clear. Whether or not the
procedures are moral or humane is none of my concern. It may be for others but I
completely disregard it. The name of the game is efficiency. To supply the
growing population with the appropriate food supply is no easy task. Whatever
methods must be used for efficiency should; the one thing they should not
sacrifice for efficiency however is the health of the consumer. Now as to
whether the procedures they go through are unhealthy for us I think some of
them are. Well at least allowing the animal to sit in their own dung seems
completely unhealthy for us. There should be a way to dispose of their excess
material as to not contaminate the meat. This is an irresponsible decision by
the corporations. They put the health of the consumer at risk because they do
not wish to invest in finding cleaner methods of mass production. This is
should not be allowed. And the inspectors who only come once in a blue moon are
a joke. There are many aspects of the food industry that are to be judged, yet
the morality of it regarding animals should not be taken into matter.
Efficiency and the sanitation I find are much more important.
Misleading Food Advertisements
I remember my first experience with fast food advertising and my disappointment with the final product. When I first saw the stuffed crust pizza advertisement from Pizza hut I immediately wanted it. The pizza looked amazing and there was a family with the pizza eating it together with all of the cheese from the pizza stretching and falling from their mouths. My mouth was already watering and I immediately ordered a pizza. When I finally got the pizza I was excited to eat it but when I opened the box I was immediately disappointed. The pizza looked flat and it had a nasty grease shine which made me feel fat by just looking at it. When I finally tasted it I discovered that it wasn't even that good. I felt obligated to eat the rest of the pizza and realized that I wasted my money. So has anyone ever had an experience similar to mine?

Progress: Benefit or Hindrance?
It is funny because my original "thesis statement" is incredibly different from the one I have now. I was originally going to write about how school lunches are contradicting what school districts promote, but it became boring to write, so I switched over to a subject that I actually want to learn more about: obesity. Advanced technology and affluence in communities
of developed countries has influenced the obesity epidemic to increase
dramatically. With the technology we have nowadays, it has made our lives more convenient, taking away are will to do physical activity. We forget about the importance of exercising because now we can do almost anything at home. I am not going to say society is not progressing because we have come up with so many useful tools over the years, but I am not sure if our progress outweighs the negatives. Focusing on the subject of obesity, in my AP Environmental text book, a graph shows that the third leading health risk in high-income countries is overweight and obesity, with physical inactivity, high blood glucose, high cholesterol, and low fruit and vegetable intake following afterwards (Andrew Friedland, pg. 465).
If I were to give all of you a choice, I can guarantee that a majority would choose a pizza party over a 5k run. Obviously there are many of you who do enjoy exercising, but if we look at the bigger picture, obesity has really become an important issue we need to solve. It is literally a matter of life or death.

The influence on food choices
My
research topic is about what influences our food choices. For example, how our
homes, schools, and the cost of food can have an impact on what we decide to
eat. I think that it’s good to know what makes us eat certain things. We may
not think that we get influenced to do so by some of the situations I am researching
about. For instance, social norms can
affect the choices we make on a daily basis, like if we see what other people
are eating it can influence what we choose to eat. Maybe because it looks good
or just that that one person is eating it. Your culture can even influence you
and, if someone moves to a different country they can pick up different eating
habits from their culture in a different place. This really opened my eyes to see what
different things affect our food choices, and could probably help change what
influences me.
Research Paper
My research paper is coming along better and better every draft. This is my fist time ever writing a research paper so at first it was very difficult for me to start. The more I played with my writing, the easier and better it got every time. I feel like spending a lot of time on this paper would be helpful for the people that are first timers because it will give us time to get the hang of things and get better and what we are writing. At first, I thought 5 pages would be the most difficult thing I've ever done in an English class but now that I am actually doing it and conquering it, I'm proud and feel good about myself.
Economy and Obesity
I decided to do my research paper on the topic of Obesity and the Economy. What struck me as interesting is the affect economic stress has on how people eat. In countries like the United States where the economy we all experience economic freedom it forces us to worry about consistency with prices and salaries. For some families fluctuations in the economy can be the difference of having work and eating and not having food at all. Other people end up overeating when they can because they are worried about the economy, and factors such as gas prices or stocks. Learning about this made me realize that overeating can be caused from all types of stress from different walks of life.
No Media Allowed
While I was looking up information, I stumbled upon this article called Kentucky “Animal
Euthanasia Bill Amended With ‘Ag-gag’ Language Probably Won’t Make It”, which
has nothing to do with my topic, but I thought I should share it. Kentucky passed a
bill that said that said that people couldn’t take pictures or videos of animal
operations if they didn’t have the consent of the owner or manager. And if they
broke the law they could be fined $250.
With this law, people can treat the
animals even worse than they are now. This is not only dangerous to the animal,
but it is also dangerous to the consumer because we wouldn’t know how they are handling
the animals. This law helps the companies that raise the animals in factories;
therefore, animals being raised in factories will increase and natural production
will go down. If this happens, then it will be harder to tell for certain which
animals were grown in a farm and which ones were grown in the factory. What do you
think about this law?
Research paper
On my paper I am feeling a little bit overwhelmed. I don't really feel like i could make it to 5-7 pages.
I haven't really done many of these papers before and I have a hard time trying to put a lot of my
facts and stuff together. Right now I have about 3 and a half pages but I don't really know how to
expand it to 5 or more. Maybe I just don't have enough information, or not doing enough with
the information that I already have. I probably will just fill a lot more space of it in with quotes and
an explanation of why the quote is there. That usually takes up a lot of space. Either way this
research paper is pretty frustrating and I hope I don't have to do many of these in college. If I
do then I definitely won't procrastinate as much and will get them done quick.

My Research Project
Doing my research paper has been a bit of a challenge for me
recently. I tend to struggle more on research papers for some reason. My topic
is cow pooling and how it is cheaper to cow pool than to buy meats at most
grocery stores and how it is healthier and tastes better. While writing the
essay I have noticed that I am being repetitive in what I am saying. Part of
the reason of why this is happening is because when I do my research each
website says the same thing. Not being able to find all of the information that
I need can be very frustrating and it makes it difficult to write the paper.
Even though I am struggling now I would rather struggle and learn now than to
go into my freshman year of college and struggle because I think I would not
get as much help as I am now. I also did
not know how to use semi colons while writing and now I am becoming better at
that as well as becoming a better writer. Hopefully I can find the information that
I need to finish this essay and also get better at research projects because I
know I need to.

raw milk: coming soon in stores near you
Many food politicians have come together recently to end the ban on marketing raw milk or unprocessed milk. Their arguments are actually pushing and have a high possibility of reaching California, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota andWest Virginia. These states are working on bills to push the proposition. Usually when people hear raw they automatically think "gross", but I mean people eat sushi, raw fish. Many think that drinking raw milk is dangerous which has been in some cases but the chances of becoming ill from raw milk is exceedingly small: about 1 in 6 million. Raw milk has various benefits to drinking it. Raw milk contains higher levels of fat soluble vitamins and nutrients since the milk comes directly from the grass graded on. Plus pasteurization reduces nutritional quality of milk products. Also some processed milk causes digestive problems in people but raw milk does not have that effect. Plus raw milk consumption during childhood protects against asthma and allergies by the dependency on allergy development. This sounds different but very interesting. Maybe I should've done my paper on this...

Our Food Culture
College Eating
I recently visited a college dormitory and saw the facilities college students had to live in for the next 1-4 years of their lives. I'm not sure if this applies to every college, but at UCSD, the residential halls comes with a kitchen that has a toaster, microwave, and fridge. This makes cooking a nice meal, if a student can, almost impossible, so when college students need to eat, they go to the dining halls or a restaurant on campus. The majority of what they eat is dependent on what the school kitchen provides, so are college students getting the appropriate nutrition they need?
Of all the articles I've read, it has been said that the cafeteria offers the nutritious food, but it's up to the students to take the veggie offers rather than to go for the delicious, cheesy pizza. Should colleges do more to promote healthful eating in their schools, or should the responsibility fall on the students?

Do You Believe That Fast Food To Blame For Obesity?
America has become one of the fattest countries in the world with a 31.8 percent obesity rate and many Americans today blame fast food companies for making people fat, but are fast food companies really at fault? Some argue that fast food companies are at fault because of the unhealthy nature of their food while others protest that self control and the lack of exercise are the real reasons why America has been so fat. Right now this topic is making me wonder how you guys feel about this topic. Do you think fast food companies are at fault or are we? Personally I think it's a little bit of both. When I hear people argue that fast food is the reason we are fat I can't help but feel like it's people saying that spoons are the reason we are fat, but the actual food itself is addicting and tasty so I understand why some people would not be able to control themselves.

Limited Skills in the Kitchen
So many of us leave high school knowing only how to microwave our ready made foods and make instant noodles. I noticed that many students find joy in baking delicious desserts but limit themselves to this part of the kitchen. Many students do not get the chance to enjoy the process of cooking a meal which includes going to the grocery store to buy the right ingredients. If students are never taught how to cook and follow recipes, it is very easy to fall into the path of fast food and ready-made, processed convenience. We already have physical education and health classes in schools...what do you think about nutrition and cooking classes in schools? What if students were able to play a part in making the cafeteria food choices? Also, what about a school community garden like Ms. Fletcher had mentioned before?

Originally my topic was the characteristic that are factors to a food choice and how we could stop lt as a society. I read a couple of articles a lot of which sirprised me .forst one was kinda easy to figure out enviofment. Our enviofment is very esssvisl FYI our food choice. Location for example it masked makes no sense why. Americans are usually on the go with some of their food if they're interested. Next is taste I believe taste is the mAin reason people but food . Sure other fActprs come onto play but for now it's just taste that is making it harder to obtain if. The next thing I wanted to talk about the personality cause. A scientist did a study and over half choose food The food that related or mently reminded them of themselves. I think this is a great topic when u have it but when it's near the .
Anyone ever wondered why food is the way it is . Why are kiwi hairy and lines green. Did anything start out differently or was everything always the same. I think food is the ultimate connection. It's something that will forever be passed down. It's a thing with so many different cycles that somehow connect to one another. Take tacos for example. Not only is it crazy how much goes into one taco. Feeding the animal tensing to the wheat and corn and such. What's truley mind blowing is the amount Of people who have eaten that before me. That's why I love cultural foods so much . It's like steeping back in time for a second. I ask myself silly questions like how would so and so eat this. Would they mumble under there breathe ,just eat it. Am I the only one I can not be the only one who does this,,,,,,,

Food
It's incredible how much food revolves around us. Think about it, we eat food 3 times a day. Most of the time we consume more than 3 times a day. Either we snack here and there or we eat big meals, being healthy or not. It's more common or teenagers to snack junk food here and there, and fast food is our favorite. I know for me I will crave more of an In n out burger than my moms vegetable soup. It's easy for us to normally eat as much as we want and know we can easily loose the weight, because we are young; on the other hand, it's extremely important to watch out diet and most importantly our health too.
Fast Food
Many people these days don't eat healthy. People are too busy or they don't have time to go out to grocery stores and buy heathy food for themselves. Instead they settle for fast food restaurants which is quickly becoming a problem. Fast food restaurants are now becoming the main source of food for people and it is extremely unhealthy. Fast food restaurants are fattening and some people blame fast food for obesity. I do not really believe that fast food is the reason for obesity because people know what they are doing to themselves. Fast food being unhealthy is not a secret, everybody knows that fast food is not healthy at all. The people that put the responsibility on fast food for obesity or being overweight aren't being honest with themselves. I don't think fast food should be blamed because people need to find time to buy or make their own food because it would benefit them more. Instead of getting food faster, people should eat healthier.
Taking Responsibility
I think one of the problems contributing to obesity is that Americans are blaming the wrong people. People continue to attack fast food companies and junk food corporations for the rise in obesity, but what they keep avoiding is the fact that the people are buying these products. We are the ones going to McDonalds instead of cooking and buying Coke instead of drinking water. No one is forcing us to buy this or eat that; it is our choice. We can continue to attack the corporations all day long, but until we take responsibility for our choices in our eating habits, there can be no significant change in our health. We need to stop justifying ourselves every time we choose a fast food dinner because of our "busy schedule". We can not keep thinking it is okay and that we will make dinner next time. Our health needs to become our number one priority and we need to take responsibility and make the effort to change.
Standard American Diet (SAD), it is sad
Many have heard the term "eat responsibly" but little actually do eat responsibly. The standard american diet causes many diseases today such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer. The main reason people are eating so irresponsibly is because healthy food is too expensive and junk food is cheaper; therefore more people are buying the cheaper food since it is more accessible. The correct solution to this issue is for the federal government to take action. In order to save the standard american diet from the corruption of the food industry is to subsidize healthy food and tax unhealthy food. Many studies have shown from various sources that if healthier foods are less expensive then the consumption and purchase of them increases and junk food consumption decreases. This proposition not only will help healthy choices but the obesity epidemic will start to decrease, rather than increase as it has been doing quite exceedingly over the past years. Plus this decrease in health risks will cause a major decline in health care costs, which can save billions of dollars. The money derived from the the taxation can be used to provide the subsidy for healthier alternatives.

characterized as healthy foods.
We tend to consume "healthy foods" just because we are told to. Half of the time we don't even know why we're eating that certain healthy food. All we know is that because we ate that healthy food our bodies will become healthy. That isn't true, we need to learn to balance our fruits and vegetables into our diet. Consuming certain vegetables and fruits to benefit our body not just because we are told to but because we know how it is beneficial to our body. Most of us don't care and won't try to make an effort to eat a vegetable or a fruit unless our parents force us to eat it. That shouldn't be the only way we consume our healthy foods. We should voluntarily want to eat them and know how they are beneficial to our body.
My research paper
Im doing my research paper of genetically modified foods which is fairly new in todays society. The bad things about it though is we don't know know if the foods we eat are genetically modified or not. There is no law saying it has to be printed on the foods. So is that a big danger? People say there are harmful effects of consuming foods that have been modified but there is no actually effect, people are just assuming. Genetically modifying foods is when we fix the DNA of a particular food and fix it to give it different traits like being immune to pathogens, which in the long run could benefit us. So is genetically modifying our food all that bad?
society leading cause of obesity?
People always talk about how the reason people are obese is because of fast foods, which is true but what about the people that can't afford healthy food from the market and have to buy fast food all the time? there are a lot of people like that and they arnt just going to starve themselves. society always talks about how people need to cut back on eating fast food but yet don't do anything about the problem. They should lower the prices of the healthy food they want people to eat and raise the prices of fast food so those kind of people would have to be forced to eat the healthier food. Instead society just sits back and talks about the problem like those people who can barely afford food are going to come up with the money and buy the good food. Our society doesn't him about that kind of stuff. Yes many people just choose to rather eat fast food bc it probably taste better but some people just don't have that option. That healthy food may be a luxury to some people and they wish they could get but financially can't.

Unveiling the Secret
One day, my dad and I were watching a movie and one of the character was preparing a meal for family. Set in the developing country of Vietnam, the man had to slit the chicken's throat himself in order to have chicken meat to eat. Seeing me squirming in disgust, my dad asked if I would ever have the guts to do that. Of course, I said no. He then shared how when he used to live in Vietnam, he'd have to do that himself to get meat for his family.
Now I wonder, why do we not have the ability to kill our own food? Isn't it in our genes to hunt? Predators in the wild do it. Why are we so detached from the production of our food? Why can we eat something, yet flinch when we have to see it get killed. (Whenever my sister buys live shrimps home to cook and I see them crawling in my sink, I lose my appetite.)
I know I'm not the only one that fears murder, but that's the problem: I'm not. Especially in an era of technology, nobody wants to hold the job killing livestock. "A new campaign to bring young people into butchery, about two out of three butchers are facing succession difficulties and the average age of a butcher is now over 50 years old." When the butchers of the past generation pass away, who will then provide our meat? “'It’s a big worry. I’m part of the last generation of old-fashioned butchers, and we’ve brought a generation of customers with us.'” In Xanthe Clay's article, she writes about how a butcher who butchers the animals in plain view of customers. “'We’ve only had two complaints that it’s too in your face. And young kids are fascinated by it,' he says. 'They love seeing the whole carcase and finding out where their chops come from.'” I believe this is a good way to train a generation to be more connected with their food, whereas my generation has grown up being completely sheltered from this aspect of food culture.

Solution Starts From You
Right now in our society, most of us tend to blame someone if
there is something wrong in our community. Most people blame the government for
not fixing the problem at the first place before the problem spread out and become
totally uncontrollable and epidemic. In this unit, our topic is about “foods”, specifically
what’s inside the food, food engineering, and obesity. In the article of Mark
Bittman, “Bad food? Tax it, and Subsidize Vegetables”, is about government
taxing unhealthy food and lowering the price of vegetables. Bittman provided a
great example; the government taxed the tobacco products and most people
quit smoking. In my opinion, I think this solution would be very effective but
people would not like it. I read this one article that says obesity rate is increasing and people propose a solution of making fast food companies to change
the way they make their food. I think it is impossible for fast food companies
to stop the food engineering because it has a lot of advantages. Whoever proposes
a solution to this problem, the simplest solution starts from you, in yourself,
by making the right choices of eating healthy food and exercising regularly. It
is not hard thing to drink water instead of soda, or spend several minutes of
hard work out a day. All of the results of this proper diet and proper exercise
take a lot of time and effort but it will pay off eventually overtime. Losing weight
takes huge dedication to achieve a fit body that every person deserves.
