Do You Believe That Fast Food To Blame For Obesity?
America has become one of the fattest countries in the world with a 31.8 percent obesity rate and many Americans today blame fast food companies for making people fat, but are fast food companies really at fault? Some argue that fast food companies are at fault because of the unhealthy nature of their food while others protest that self control and the lack of exercise are the real reasons why America has been so fat. Right now this topic is making me wonder how you guys feel about this topic. Do you think fast food companies are at fault or are we? Personally I think it's a little bit of both. When I hear people argue that fast food is the reason we are fat I can't help but feel like it's people saying that spoons are the reason we are fat, but the actual food itself is addicting and tasty so I understand why some people would not be able to control themselves.

In my opinion, it is both fault of fast food companies and the consumer. Fast food companies add handful of chemicals in their food just to enhance the taste even its unhealthy and not necessary. They advertise their products so much and it makes us to go to their store just to taste the food we saw in the commercial. It is also our fault because we choose to eat their product. Just saying that fast foods are not healthy would not make everyone to stop buying fast food products, just like saying tobacco is dangerous to your health did not stop people from smoking.
ReplyDeleteI believe the consumer is to blame, not both. Sure fast foods can be addicting and they advertise their products all the time, but people should have the self-control to be able to stop themselves from eating too much. Even if it is addicting, what's stopping people from exercising? In this day and age people are just extremely lazy and they like to blame others for their problems.
